Grown in fertile fields without the use of fertilizers, our cocoa is processed artisanally to preserve its purity and natural flavor. Genearca ensures rigorous control from harvest to packaging, offering bio chocolate with transparent and sustainable origins, aligned with the demands of the European market and backed by generations of experience in premium cocoa production.

Our Story

Where We Come From

Genearca is a family business stemming from a long lineage of coffee and cocoa producers in Manabí. It was born out of the desire to remain involved in the family enterprise but in a different way—by offering a finished product that can be consumed locally by the community and those involved in the process.

After decades of engaging in the cultivation, processing, and export of coffee and cocoa beans in the fields of Manabí, Genearca represents a bridge between generations of producers in the Pichincha canton, Manabí province, and the vision of the family patriarch, Ángel Hidrovo. In 1940, he initiated the first generation of successful coffee and cocoa merchants at the national level. Later, his son Ignacio Hidrovo Solórzano envisioned expanding the product’s reach and initiated the process of exporting the beans to various international markets.
